As soon as cold weather hits, it’s easy to fall into the trap of wearing nothing but sweatpants and hoodies– MAYBE jeans and a sweater if you have to look nice– for the season. However, there are plenty of ways to up your style game in the winter, and we promise, they’re almost effortless!

Layers

One of the simplest ways to change up your look is to layer. For example, even your favorite summer dress can easily become a winter staple when it’s paired with tights, boots, and a cardigan.

Sherpas are also all the rage this season. No matter what type of outfit you’re going for, there’s bound to be a sherpa that will compliment it. The options are almost endless, with pullovers, vests, and cardigans on the market, just to name a few!

Accessorize

There are some days when all you want to do is wrap up in your big winter coat if you have to go out, and it may feel like there’s no point in accessorizing because no one will see it. That may not be the case! Big, chunky statement jewelry has been popular since the latter half of 2021, and we don’t think that’s changing any time soon. Next time you have to go out and want to step up your typical cozy attire, try adding a flashy pair of statement earrings!

Despite the cold weather, floral patterns and accessories have also been in all season. Whether you decide to try a pair of fun flower earrings or add a floral necklace or pin to your go-to jeans-and-sweater look, all eyes will be on you for sure.

We are also still seeing fringe jewelry rise to the top of the trend scene. While this look may be more commonly found on clothing, adding chain “fringe” to earrings, necklaces, and much more has become increasingly popular. Long, shoulder-grazing chandelier-type earrings will likely be seen more and more throughout the season, and possibly even into the spring.

The Best Boots this Season

Boots will never be out of fashion in the winter, but what types of boots, exactly? The answer is simple: platform. Chunky, platform boots have begun to pop up on the fashion radar since earlier in 2021, and they seem to be staying for the winter. You may be skeptical at first, but we encourage you to give them a try if you’re looking for the perfect winter boots!
